Happy 2008!!
4th January 11:16
Prayerfeeder wishes you a blessing-filled new year.
We don't wish to jump toooo much on the new year resolution band-wagon... but we've got a website to promote! So, if you're resolving to increase your prayerful commitment to friends and family, then why not hop onboard (if you've not already registered, then go here) and invite those people to join you on Prayerfeeder.
Part of the Prayerfeeder challenge is to be able to open up and share our own ongoing needs and requests. So why not resolve to add at least one prayer request per week. Clearly, not every request will be for something momentous, but it's important to share even the low-key aspects of our lives with the people that we want to pray with.
Praying for other people is a Very Good Thing* - and being prayed for by others is a Life-Changing Thing*
So... make that resolution now, and let's get cracking!
* please excuse the theological terminology
Tinkering behind the scenes - invitations
21st November 19:46
Although we've not added any news items recently, it doesn't mean we haven't been busy. We've been streamlining how e-mails are sent behind the scenes, and making some changes in response to your feedback.

A fairly significant tweak we've made affects how you send invitations: you may now include as many e-mail addresses as you like in a single invitation. So, if you were going to invite a number of your friends to join Prayerfeeder, but got a bit bored of doing them one-at-a-time... here's your chance to finish the job quickly and easily!
The invitation e-mails that you send now also include your name in the subject line, so your friends now have no excuse for disregarding them as spam...
Another change we've made to how invitations are sent and received is that you can now choose which prayerbox to add a particular contact to before you send (or accept) an invitation.
We hope these small changes improve your experience of the website.
As ever, if you have further ideas of small (or large!) changes you'd like to see on Prayerfeeder.com - please do let us know.

What's a Prayerbox? How is it different from a Group? How do I send an invitation?
Fed up of lying awake at night pondering these fundamental questions? Good news: the answers are now freely available. Just click on the question mark wherever you see it for page-specific help.
There's lots of information and links to related topics, to get you to the answer you need as quickly as possible.
Help pages will open in a new browser window (or tab).

New feature: search for your friends
16th October 10:11
It's a common dilemma: you're a fresh arrival at Prayerfeeder - you've just registered and now you're keen to start praying. But where are your friends? Where are your family? Who else from your church is already here?
Well, now you can find out very quickly, by clicking on the Search for new friends link in the sidebar.
When you find who you're looking for, you can click on their username to check their details, and then hit the "Invite" button and ask them to pray with you.
If you fancy a bit of privacy and would rather not advertise your presence on Prayerfeeder to the wider world, just visit Change my details and update your privacy level to "Private".
New feature: upload your image
16th October 10:10
Now you can add the equivalent of 1,000 words to each of your prayers... simply by uploading your photo or image to Prayerfeeder.

This has been a popularly requested feature in recent months... several people have contacted Prayerfeeder to say that they would find it helpful to see a picture of the person they're praying with. Many others have (slightly less worthily!) commented that they thought the site just needed prettying-up a bit.
Whatever your motivation, log-on to the site and follow the link from the My details page.
Images are also applicable for Groups, so group owners: please feel free to add your group's logo or photo. Just follow the link from the My groups page
New feature: your Prayerfeed in your Inbox!
2nd October 16:31
Now you don't need to come to us... we can come to you. We're introducing a new regular Prayerfeed e-mail facility - and we're pleased to say we can now deliver your Prayerfeed into your Inbox on any (or indeed every) day of your choosing.
You can even choose between a straight-forward text version, or a super-snazzy HTML version.
Our crack team of Prayerfeeder operatives will get up in the small hours of each morning (UK time), eat three Weetabixes each, and then get busy typing your e-mails. (You won't believe the lengths we go to in order to help you pray!)
To change the day(s) you receive your Prayerfeed via e-mail, log in to Prayerfeeder, go to the (new) Change e-mail settings page and make your choice. You can select your preferred format here too.
The default selection here is that you'll receive a fresh Prayerfeed e-mail first thing every Monday.
As always, do let us know your thoughts on this new feature.
New feature: e-mail notification
2nd October 16:30
Now you can choose to stay close to the beating heart of your Prayerfeeder friends. Simply take the option to receive a notification e-mail each time someone you're praying with adds a prayer.
This option is automatically selected for you as you register for Prayerfeeder. If you're an existing user, this option has already been activated for you, too.
To stop receiving notification e-mails, simply log in, go to the (new) Change e-mail settings page and turn them off.
We hope this new feature is useful to you - please let us know your comments.
New feature: Groups
17th September 16:29
Alongside the brand new "Prayerbox" feature (see below), we're pleased to announce the advent of Groups at Prayerfeeder.
Are you a member of a church? Do you ever meet regularly with friends? Are you taking part on a project, or part of a committee? Do you wish you could pray effectively with your work colleagues?
Prayerfeeder groups are for you. Set one up, and invite other members to join. Once you've joined a group, you can instantly see all the prayers that the other group members have added - no need to go through the hassle of inviting each member individually.
Use this alongside the Prayerbox feature and you can post different prayers to different groups, as well as to friends and family as individuals. Prayers posted to groups will appear in your prayerfeed as normal, and you can change the feed settings for each group to determine how many prayers from which group(s) you see on which days.
Groups may be set up as Public or Private. Once you're signed in to Prayerfeeder, public groups will be listed under 'Search public groups' in the right-hand links bar. You can ask to join a public group by selecting to 'Show' details for that group and then click on 'Join this group'. Your request must then be approved by the group owner (the person that set up the group).
Start a new group by clicking on 'My groups' in the righthand links bar, and then click on 'Start a new group'.
As ever, please let us know what you think about this new feature.
Do you pray whilst still on-line? Try using this lava-lamp!
17th September 16:28
The nice people at emergingchurch.info have provided an on-line lava lamp prayer application.

You need to have Flash running on your computer in order to use it.
Know of any other on-line prayer-related dooberries? Let us know. If we get some good suggestions, we'll build a handy links page.
New feature: Prayerboxes
17th September 16:27
We're pleased to announce a new feature now available on Prayerfeeder: Prayerboxes.
Prayerboxes allow you to make different prayers available to different people. You can set up as many prayerboxes as you like.
From now on, each time you add or edit a prayer, you choose to post it into one or more of your prayerboxes. Each of your friends is allowed to view one (and only one!) of your prayerboxes. You have a default prayerbox already set up - "General" - and everytime you make a new friend they'll see prayers in this prayerbox... until you add them to a different prayerbox.
You could think of Prayerboxes as a bit like pigeonholes: Each of your friends has a key to just one pigeonhole (though more than one friend may be able to access each pigeonhole). When you write a prayer, decide which pigeonhole(s) you want to put it in, and "photocopy" it that many times.
If you're signed in to Prayerfeeder, you can select "My prayerboxes" from the right-hand links bar.

A few small changes - in preparation for some big ones!
21st August 11:51
You may have noticed a few changes to the site from today...
For example, the 'links' bar on the right hand side of the screen is a little easier to navigate, and you should find it easier to move around the site.
If you use the external atom/RSS feed feature, you should have received an e-mail informing you of a change to your feed address - effective as from now. Just right-click on the tasteful orange icon to pick up the new address.
These small changes are just the forerunners of some exciting developments just around the corner. See the about page for further details. As always - do let us know your thoughts and ideas for the future.
