About Prayerfeeder
You can read our headline description on the front page, so if you want to know the very basics, read that first.
What does 'BETA' mean??
This current release of Prayerfeeder is the beta version... which means that the site is undergoing continuous development. We'd love to hear your feedback on how it works for you. What's good about the site? What needs more attention? How would you like to see it developed?
Since going to beta at the end of August, we have already delivered the following enhancements during September and October:
- the ability to search for your friends amongst the existing users on the site,
- the ability to upload a mugshot (to remind your friends just how beautiful you are),
- the ability to set up Prayerboxes, which means different friends can see different prayers (particularly useful if some prayers are confidential),
- an e-mail service so that you can stay in touch without visiting the Prayerfeeder site every day,
- and the ability to set up and join groups, so that you can see all prayers that the other members post to the group.
Presently, there's one major piece of work we'd like to do before removing the beta tag, and that is:
- a messaging service: the ability to send and receive messages to/from any other Prayerfeeder user. This will be accompanied by the ability to block messages from specific users, too... just in case...!
However, don't hold us to that! If you have a cracking idea for us; something new and exciting we haven't thought of yet - please do let us know, and we can add it to the list. Maybe the beta tag will eventually disappear... maybe not... but we're expecting Prayerfeeder to be under continuous development for some time yet.
Coming up next - Prayer Diaries
Prayer Diaries will be the Next Big Thing for Prayerfeeder. Our aim is to be the central hub for prayer requests from all your favourite organisations and agencies. Who do you currently pledge to support through prayer? Or rather, who would you support if only you could find their most recent prayer e-mail, or if only you could remember to visit their website and find their prayer page? Prayerfeeder aims to help the organisations you support to get their prayer diaries straight to you - where you already are - so you can view them in your prayerfeed in amongst prayers from your friends and family. So now you know what we're aiming for.
Who are Prayerfeeder?
Actually, that question is technically 'Who is Prayerfeeder?' as there's only one of us at the moment. We keep using 'we' around the website as a cunning artifice to fool people into thinking about a vast organisation full of geeks, sitting in a Central London office block with blue-mirrored glass windows. Plus it will save having to re-word all the webpages at the point we take on some staff. But, to drop the deception for one paragraph only...:

Hi, my name is Stephen. I have twelve years experience in the IT world. I am a theology student (on a long break!), I like wasting time on the internet, and I am keen to find ways of integrating my Christian faith with my everyday life (rather than visiting an imposing building and singing stereotypical songs once a week).
Keep talking
None of this website has any value unless we meet our basic aim of helping you pray for other people more effectively. So please let us know about your experiences! Please see our contact page to find our e-mail address.
If you do discover any bugs, problems or broken links as you use the site, we'd be grateful if you would take the time to let us know, so that we can fix them. Details for this are also on our contact page.
Prayerfeeder is dedicated to Is There A Doctrine In The House - members present and past - as ramshackle a bunch of people that ever shared prayers together. This time it's all say, all pray.
Prayerfeeder – keeping faith with the world-wide web.
