Prayerfeeder Privacy Policy

Prayerfeeder is a free UK-based prayer-list management and sharing service. Prayerfeeder is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of that information and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.

What types of personal information do we collect and how do we use it?

Account information. When you register with Prayerfeeder, we will request some personal information, including your name, email address, a username, and password to create your account. Your password will be maintained on our system in an encrypted form.

Prayer list contents and usage. The contents of your Prayerfeeder account are stored and maintained on third party servers in order to provide the service. Because we keep back-up copies of data for the purposes of recovery from errors or system failure, residual copies of task list contents may remain on our systems, and those of such third parties as we seek to engage to host the service, for some time, even after you have deleted information or after the termination of your account. Prayerfeeder will not access the content of any Prayer items unless you specifically request them to do so (for example, if you are having technical difficulties accessing your account) or if required by law, to maintain our system, or to protect Prayerfeeder or the public.

We also may collect information about the use of your account, such as how much storage you are using, how often you log in and other information related to your registration and use of Prayerfeeder. Information displayed or clicked on in your Prayerfeeder account (including UI elements, links, and other information) may also be recorded. We use this information internally to deliver the best possible service to you, such as improving the Prayerfeeder user interface.

Prayerfeeder may use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us develop the website and our services and may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

Cookies & log information.

Cookies. A cookie is a small data file that is sent to your computer when you first visit a website.

When you visit Prayerfeeder and create a Prayerfeeder account, we set and access cookies on your computer. We use cookies for a number of reasons, such as recognizing you when you visit the site, and maintaining the security of your account. We may also use the cookies to collect aggregated information about the use of Prayerfeeder to maintain, analyze and improve the service. If you set your browser so that it refuses cookies, you will not be able to use the Prayerfeeder service.

Log information. When you use your Prayerfeeder account, we may collect certain information (the same information that most web sites log when they are accessed). This information, contained in the 'header' of your request to access the Prayerfeeder page, will usually include the browser type you used, your Internet Protocol address, and the date and time of day. How we protect your information.

The internet is not a secure medium. However we have put in place various security procedures as set out in this policy. You should know:

• We collect limited account information and store and maintain your account and Prayer item contents on secure servers.
• We will never rent, sell or share information that personally identifies you for marketing purposes without your express permission.
• You can update your account information and preferences at any time.

To comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, at this time Prayerfeeder is only available to users who are at least 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use the Prayerfeeder service. We recommend that minors over the age of 13 ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the internet.

We also keep your information confidential. The internal procedures of Prayerfeeder cover the storage, access and disclosure of your information.

Content of external feeds

You may expect that the contents of your Prayer items themselves will be exported and stored on third party applications known as Feed Aggregators. These are what enable Prayer feeds to be displayed in Newsreader and/or Personalised Homepage applications. The contents of Prayer items may be maintained in Feed Aggregators even after you have deleted them from your Prayerfeeder account. Different Feed Aggregators work in different ways, and they are outside the control of Prayerfeeder. Therefore, you should not include any information in your Prayer items that would be deemed confidential by you or anyone else referenced by the Prayer item.

Your Prayerfeeder account details are not exported in this way.

Links.

Prayerfeeder may contain links to other websites. We are of course not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collect personally identifiable information. This privacy policy applies solely to information collection by Prayerfeeder.

How we may contact you.

Prayerfeeder may send you information related to your Prayerfeeder account or Prayerfeeder services. Because we believe such information is important, you will not be given the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.

Transfer of information.

Personal information collected by Prayerfeeder may be stored and processed outside of the United Kingdom. By using Prayerfeeder, you consent to any such future transfer of information outside of your country.

We reserve the right to transfer your personal information in the event of a transfer of ownership of Prayerfeeder, such as acquisition by or merger with another company. In such an event, Prayerfeeder will notify you before information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Updating your information.

You can change your Prayerfeeder acount details at any time in the 'Update my details' page.

You can terminate your account at any time, by going to the same page. You should be aware, however, that residual copies of information may remain stored on our systems even after the deletion of information or the termination of your account.

Your consent.

By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy. If we change our privacy policy we will post the changes on this page, and may place notices on other pages of the website, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times. We will also email you should we make changes so that you may consent to our use of your information in that way. Continued use of the service will signify that you agree to any such changes.
